Seats
A seat is one machine on a Formware account for a given tool. A purchase includes your seat. You can add one extra personal device at no charge, and invite teammates on paid seats.
What a seat is
Formware tools are bound to your Formware account. There is no serial key to paste. When a tool signs in, that machine uses a seat on the account for that tool.
Seat 1 is yours. It is the machine you use with the login that bought the tool, or the login that accepted a teammate invite.
Your included seat
A purchase includes one seat for the buyer. Sign in from the tool on the machine you work on. The tool talks to formware.app, and that device shows up under Account.
You can rename or remove devices from Account. Removing a device frees the seat so another machine can sign in.
Free personal second device
One extra personal seat is free on the same Formware login — for example a laptop and a desktop. Both machines have to be yours.
The second device asks you to certify: this is your own second personal device, and you will not share it with a teammate or a studio machine. Formware reviews that request. Keep the tool open while it is pending.
A free second device is personal-only. It is not a teammate seat. Teammates need a paid seat and their own Formware login.
Team seats
Paid extra seats are for other people. Each teammate uses their own Formware account and gets one device for that tool.
Buy extra seats from the tool’s product page, then invite people from Account with their email. They sign in, accept the seat, and log in from the tool on their machine.
A team seat is one machine. Extra devices for that person need their own license for the tool.
Managing seats
Open Account and expand Seats on the tool. You can see personal devices, pending second-device review, team invitations, and who is using a seat.
If every seat is in use, remove a device you no longer need, or add a teammate seat from the product page. Support can help if a seat is stuck after a refund, a transfer, or a machine you cannot reach.
